Drum Lesson 6: Telepathy (Old)
Sometimes I really wonder if my instructor has telephathy or he reads my blog or i'm damn obvious. Twice already.. he seems to read my mind.. when i was so fustrated that i can't get things right, he will come out and say something.. and yah he goes one damn big round to emphasize and re-emphasize wat he wants to say.. i listen until i "fang kong"....
yesterday we din't really learn much in the lesson.. as we are still back to maintaining our tempo with the metronome... it seems that we have a common problem.. we seem to move faster and faster as we go along... maybe because we are used to the motion already tat we tend to move slightly faster... tats what we guess is the problem...
and remember i last week i speak about asking my hands to follow the instructions of my brain?? no this time round it still wants to go on its own.. but at least my instructor explains why (here is the telepathy part.. as i din't mention to him at all.. i think he notice my fustration)... most pple will have this kind of problem.. thinking is one thing.. but when the mechanics start to work it is a different story.. tats why we have to practice and practice on it until we get it right, until we register it in our mind... like the instructor says: "there is no magic potion or talent in this area.. it just take practice and more practice for you to achieve the stage"... so at least now i'm not so worried that i'm actually retarded....
he also make us stay behind to watch the next lesson... i think we stress the lady up... hahaha.. i think i will be worst if i'm the one sitting there and there are others watching.. but it was quite shiok when the instructor was there playing on the drum together with a bassist... so at least now i understand more the relationships between them...
and i think we are going to get our drumsticks and metronome next week... ermm.. tat is if he remembers to call for a combined class... so another money spending time again... arghhh.... but at least i got my first drumstick... :P
