Drum Lesson 10: James Blunt You're Beautiful
My first drum lesson after recovering from CP... totally slack... feels like ages since i last did a good drumming lesson.. cos i already miss 2 lessons in Jan due to my HK trip... than went back for 1 week and is down with CP for another 2 weeks... so that lesson sucks... totally not in momentum... and seriously lack of practice...
This lesson he let me play with You're Beautiful.... starting with the basic rock beat and a simple fill-in... took me more than 1/2 the lesson to catch that... i'm really old and out of practice... concentration level was low too... than finally catching with the rock beat on and off we move on to doing it with the more complicated hi-hat patterns... which again i took another 1/2 of the lesson to "try" play with the music... and still din't quite get it... and worst didn't do the correct fill-in....
oh yeah, he also taught me to do the rim hitting rather than on the snare.. which is not as simple as it looks.... the stick control is difficult.. having to keep the stick on the snare at the same time lifting the front portion off... you need big hands to do that i think....

i miss lesson last week because of the shift in office... and will be having my lesson in 2 days time.. during which i only manage to practice once... chumz... how come i feel saturday is going to be disaterous again?? maybe i shld stop my drum lesson soon.. especially next month when i'm in a uper stress mode... but its a good form of de-stressing... *sighz* look see look see bah...

bwah! i found this page from someone's blog hahaha! so much for stumbling ehehehe! i quite forgot abt u moving ur drums lesson to another blog already cos my internet at home is really dysfunctional. therefore missing all the blogging of drum lessons. but just updateing u, it's been slow. we got same new notes aka rudiments. and am now pestering ausgt to teach me franz ferdinand's Matinee. heeheez! alritey! see u online if i see u ;P -maydayed
hahaha.... long time no see you online also...
yah things are getting a bit slow on myside.. need to spice it up..
heard from augst that you went jamming... fill me in with the details when there is chance.. :)
btw, who link to my blog?
tsrukien... ah dunno how to spell.
yeps! i went jamming! with weiting and meiyun (if u know them)hahaha! well, it was fun! but since it's our first time and the one who went jamming before was late so left us 2 newbies trying to figure out how things in the jam-room works, took a while. i din do much of the figuring lar. cos us drums no need to figure kekez! we managed to do half-pass-six "zhiming & chunjiao" and "wen rou" and i drummed only 1 pattern i.e. ref to notes: high-hat pattern 2 FIRST set repeatedly. ONLY. and failed to add in any fill-ins. hahahahaha! but it was quite exciting nonetheless cos u kinda like hear the song slowly coming together-guitars and drums. o! we failed to bring in the vocals too cos i cant remember lyrics and the other 2 cannot multi-task. hiaks! hahaha! well well, try again next time! mabbe can ask u along when we go again yea! want want? ehehe! i can play bass(TRY!) and u can do the drums and maybe ask shirley along to sing or watever. aiyah! augst said to ask him along next time too. ahahaha then he can witness how cui we are. yikes! ok neh! gambatte! ;) -maydayed
hahaha... sounds like fun... okok... next time if you all going i go watch... can??? cos my tempo sucks lah.. cannot really do much... :P
ahaha can!
